Over the past week, there have been many fires in the area including several field, grass and bush fires. Some were caused by open flames on windy days and North Huron Publishing encourages everyone who has to burn to do so safely. The photo of the day was taken by The Citizen reporter Denny Scott at a fire on Maitland Block Line. While it may look edited, the affect that is causing the firefighters to look almost as if they were painted is actually caused by the intense heat of the field fire they were battling.
